The Tale of P!NK and a Candy Buffet Business That Grew Up Fast
Hi, it’s Marissa. Sydney’s buzzing tonight with the second-last P!NK concert, and I’m finally on the couch after a wild few weeks. Feels like the right moment to look back.
My head keeps going to 2012. I’d been in the candy buffet game for about a year. Still learning, still hustling, still trying to prove we belonged in the events world.
Then the phone rang.
Carly, one of our clients, told me an international artist was touring Australia. No details, just a hint that it would be big and there would be “quite a few dates”. “Quite a few” turned into more than 60 shows. The Truth About Love tour. Record-breaking. Massive. And somehow, we were in the mix.
I remember sitting there after that call, knowing that if I didn’t land this job, I’d regret it. I pushed hard. Harder than I’d ever pushed for anything in the business. And when we got the green light, everything shifted. That tour set a new bar for us. It showed us what we could actually pull off. It put us on the map.
Fast forward six years. The next P!NK tour was announced and I didn’t even hesitate. I called Carly instantly. “Yes, yes, Marissa, we’ll do something again.” During P!NK’s break, we’d already styled candy buffets for Bruno Mars, Rihanna and Maroon 5 through the same client, so hearing that “yes” again meant a lot. It meant trust. It meant we were doing something right.
Then came covid. The live music industry took a hit. The events industry took an even bigger one. No one knew what things would look like on the other side. But when the world opened up again, we were ready.
And here we are. Third P!NK tour done. Another chapter in a partnership I’m genuinely proud of.
We’ll keep doing what we do best: creating candy installations that look incredible and taste even better. And hopefully, keep growing with clients who believe in us as much as we believe in them.
Got a sweet tooth for style? Let’s make your next event deliciously unforgettable.
