Even if you’re not a hardcore Family Guy fan, there’s a good chance you’ll recognize the catchphrase, “Ooh! A piece of candy!” It appeared on the show when an animated version of actor James Woods followed a trail of sweets into a box-and-stick trap, and now it’s appearing in a slew of parody videos on YouTube.
The “piece of candy” trope recently got popular again because of a video where a baby girl following a candy trail gets caught in a laundry basket trap. Her dad does the “Ooh, a piece of candy!” voiceover on the video, for added LOL.
This is far from the first time someone has spoofed that Family Guy scene for YouTube, but it’s probably the funniest. There are half a dozen others, and most of them are boring, boring, boring. The baby version has the advantage of an honest victim — don’t worry, she doesn’t get hurt — instead of the clunky, forced setups and lame video game animations of the other videos.
But don’t take my word for it. I’ve rounded up all of the Piece of Candy vids on YouTube so you can judge for yourself.
